Nineteen inches in length, the irregular shapes and semi smooth surfaces articulate the remarkable lustre. Biwa pearls were once harvested from Lake Biwa, an ancient Japanese lake near Kyoto but nowadays they all come from freshwater lakes in China and their lustre is actually much better.
